About Us

  • A village with a population of 307 (2011 census) in the East Riding of Yorkshire in the North East of England.
  • It is a mainly agricultural parish covering 2,092 acres and stretches from the River Humber in the south, to the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds in the north.
  • The community has an active Parish Council and Church as well as branches of the Women’s Insitute and Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association.
  • There is an enthusiastic Neighbourhood Watch organisation.
  • Several businesses are based in the village, including growers, a residential care home, a pub and garden centre.
  • There are two playing fields and a village hall, maintained by members of the community.
